The CoverCress™ seed technology delivers value across the entire supply chain from production to end customers.
Farmers are the key to enabling the CoverCress technology to make a difference in lowering the carbon intensity of renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel. Farmer partners will contract with CCI to produce the CoverCress grain and will be enabled to capture premium value from this distinctive crop compared to just a commodity value. If you would like to be a part of a dedicated farm-to-fuel supply chain with economic and great societal benefits, click below.
Following the successful harvest of CoverCress grain, specified grain handlers will collect, condition, and store the grain. Grain handlers will also be responsible for confirming the volume of grain delivered by the farmer and making the grain delivery to the end-use customer. Following the delivery to the grain handler, the farmer will be paid by CCI.
We are in the process of securing this network for the 2022/2023 season, and additional information will be available in the coming months. To be considered for this network, please get in touch with us.
CCI's attractive market opportunities for the CoverCress crop include animal feed and the renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel market. CCI will first focus on leveraging the oil content of our whole grain as the energy component in feed for the production of broiler chickens, starting in 2023. Ultimately, the highest value market will result from crushing CoverCress grain, extracting low carbon intensity of CoverCress oil as a feedstock to produce renewable fuels, and utilizing the high-protein meal as animal feed.
